Micromax Canvas Knight is a good attempt by Micromax to try to win the Indian market, just like they did at the time of Canvas HD launch, which is the highest selling smartphone by the company till now. Micromax Canvas Knight A350 comes with latest hardware configuration expected in the company's flagship phone and also comes under the price bracket of Rs. 20,000 making it pretty affordable for Indian buyers.
What is it?
A smartphone that feels great in the built quality department. It sports a 5 IPS LCD display but comes with FULL HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 with a pixel density of nearly 441 pixels per inch. On the hardware front, it comes powered with Octa Core 2 Ghz processor based on Cortex A7 architecture, 2 GB RAM, 16 MP AF Rear Camera and 8 MP front camera. There is 32 GB of built in memory, which cannot be expanded any further. It's backed by a 2350 mAh battery and runs on android 4.2.2 Jelly bean.
Who is it for?
For all those who need powerful smartphone with latest hardware. It's for users who have the expectations like decent price and value-for-money device with best hardware specifications under this price. Micromax has built a good brand value over some time which makes many people to go for it.
Design
Its looks great on the design department as it's got good looks with glass on the front and back; it does create a distinctive image in terms of design and form factor. It combines a cool slim design and great built quality. However, it resembles a lot like the earlier iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S as it has got the same kind of metal frame on the edges. Looking slightly different in finish, it feels as strong as the older iPhone 4.
The rear of the phone is made up of glass so it will catch finger prints and may smudge over time but Micromax is kind enough to bundle a translucent back cover + case for canvas knight inside the package which gives good protection to the rear glass and enhances the grip over the phone. The volume buttons, power and sleep keys are metallic buttons and give great tactile feedback when pressed.
It weighs around 154 grams and it does not feel like a very heavy phone, the form factor is good as you can easily hold the phone in one hand. The slim profile at 7 mm of this phone makes it really portable and easy to carry around or to put it inside any pocket, however, the rear camera module comes little above the surface of the phone but it does cause any issue.
Display
It has an IPS LCD display panel with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, which does make it very crisp and clear. However, the colour reproduction of the display is not great, just decent enough like samsung superamoled displays. The contrast levels are decent and display brightness is good enough. Font size is good which makes things easy to read on this display and viewing angles are also pretty good on this device, however, the sunlight visibility, though readable, is not too good.
Software
It runs an Android 4.2.2 and has slight amount of customization in UI user interface in the form of new icons, but overall UI is stock android and runs smoothly. The touch screen is responsive to finger touch and there no considerable lag in UI transitions or animations.
Camera
The rear camera on the device is 16 MP with auto focus and tap-to-focus is also supported with the default camera UI which is customised. It does provide modes like HDR, Panorama, animated photo and eraser mode as well. The overall photo quality is good in day light but low light shots taken from the device were average and showed slight amount of noise. The 8 MP front camera is really good; you can do a good quality of video chat with it and things will look clear and has decent amount of details when you take photos or broadcast video from front camera.

Gaming
It performs great on gaming front. Unlike the Canvas Turbo A250, it can play heavy graphic games like Modern Combat 4, Nova 3 and Front Line commando d day. But when we tried playing Blood & Glory, we could not play it because of some inactive control on screens. It was running smoothly but some game controls did not work.
Sound Quality
Canvas Knight performs quite good in terms of sound quality and loudness. It has a single speaker on the bottom edge and the placement of this speaker is also good as it does not get blocked when you place device on table while watching a video.
The Good
· Crisp Display and Wide Viewing Angles
· Great Build Quality
The Bad
· Some Games Do Not Get Installed
· Not So Great Camera on Rear
Should I Buy it?
Micromax Canvas Knight A350 is one of the best value for money at the price point of Rs 19,000 (approx), and you get a great built quality as well on this phone as per the price. The software and hardware on this phone do talk to each other quite well. But one of the downside could be a decent but not-so-great camera performance, which you might be expecting from a 16MP camera module.
